	<title><![CDATA[About]]></title>
	<description><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://ipac-co2.com/" target="_blank" title="ipac-co2 public site">IPAC-CO2</a>&nbsp;Research  Inc., the International Performance Assessment Centre for geologic  storage of Carbon Dioxide, is an environmental non-government  organization created to provide independent risk assessments of geologic  storage of carbon dioxide to governments, industry and the public.  IPAC-CO2 was established in 2009 with $14 million in funding from the  Government of Saskatchewan, Royal Dutch Shell and the Government of  Canada through Western Economic Diversification.</p>
<p><a href="http://cmc-nce.ca/" target="_blank" title="CMC-NCE public site">Carbon Management Canada</a>&nbsp;(CMC-NCE)  is a federal Network of Centres of Excellence established to facilitate  innovation in the technology, knowledge and human capacity necessary to  help the upstream fossil energy industry reduce carbon emissions. It is  funded by the federal government through the NCE Secretariat, Alberta  Environment and industry supporters who include ATCO Power, Canadian  Natural Resources, Capital Power, Cenovus, ConocoPhillips, Spectra  Energy and Suncor.</p>
<p>The shared aims of IPAC-CO2 and CMC-NCE include the development of  collaborative environments which will encourage innovation and  creativity. &nbsp;This web portal provides a common, shared site in which the  industrial and academic communities can recognize and develop common  practices, share data and applications, and create new solutions to  global carbon emissions and storage problems.</p>
